Start with the end

The final answer sounds a lot like the first.  The universe could not bear non-existence so it caved in and a bright burst of light hurtled itself into nothing into an endless sky.  A trillion points of light converged on the perspective of an empty wet planet. At the end of the line matter became mind, and mind became matter.
